TPS54326 - About Figure 10

Hi Team,

I have two questions about Figure 10.

[Q1]

Could you please let us know the input voltage?

I can’t find the input voltage condition of this data in datasheet.

[Q2]

I believe that the ranges of “Io - Output current -A” are as follows.

Is my understanding correct?

I’d greatly appreciate your verification.

Regards,

Kanemaru

  • Hi, Kanemaru,

    for Q1, it's Vin = 12V, general rule is, if it's not specifically pointed out, then it's default setting, which is Vin = 12 as mentioned at top left corner of the page.

    for Q2, yes, you're correct, it's logarithmic scale.

  • Hi Nick-san,

    Thank you for your prompt reply.

    Our customer are evaluating TPS54326 at the following conditions.

    Therefore, they would like to know “Switching frequency vs output current” at this conditions.

    Do you have similar data?

    If no, could you evaluate this data?

    [Conditions]

    VIN=6V/7.4V/8.4V

    VOUT=1.27V

    IOUT =1A(max)

    L=DFE252012F 2.2uH (TOKO)

    And, I have one more question.

    They worry whether the switching frequency does not depend on “temperature” and " Individual difference".

    So, could you please let us know if you have any data which is the basis of that?

    Regards,

    Kanemaru

  • Just as a general comment, TPS54326 does not have an internal oscillator. The frequency is not well controlled. It is governed by the adaptive on time controller and hysteretic off time comparator in CCM mode and is quite variable. In eco-mode operation, the perceived switching frequency will vary with load. In your case you will be in normal CCM condition.
  • Hi John-san,

    Thank you for your response.

    We understand the DCAP2 control method.

    However, our customer would like to know the “Switching frequency vs output current graph” and whether the switching frequency does not depend on “temperature” and " Individual difference".

    Regards,

    Kanemaru

  • I would expect some variation of frequencywith both temperature and part to part variation. As the frequency is not specified directly in the Electrical Characteristics table, we do not have any characterization data for it. There is only "typical" data as shown in the datasheet.
  • Hi John-san,

    Thank you for the information.

    I understand. Thank you very much.

    Kanemaru
