TPS51367 Tj max; Higher ambient Temp

I am reasonably certain that maximum operating Tj is 125 C as thermal shut down is 140 C. So theoretically you can operate at higher ambient current if you derate the current.

There is TJ max value, which is 150, in ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS table in DS. But as Tucker said thermal shutdown is 140, I think you can add some derating based on 140 for normal work, and also there is θJA/JC in THERMAL INFORMATION table, you can evaluate the chip max Power by these data.

Yes, Tucker, Thanks for your explaination,  I agree with you , I mean customer can make derating based on 140C to get the spec., maybe 80%*140 or 90%140, I have no detailed experience value, certainly, I agree with 125C as well. and 150C is exactly absolute spec.

Please do not allow the junction temperature to approach the thermal shut down. Do not let the junction temperature exceed 125 C.
