Please help me about non SIMPLE SWITCHER DC/DC!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM26420, LMR12015, LM53601-Q1

Hello.
My customer is currently in considering LMR12015 or LM53601-Q1,now.

My customers would like to compare that devices.

If my customer have this data in one week later, the customer consider either of devices.

It will mount to a wireless transceiver system(For policeman).
I want to win this project.

So, please support me !

<Request contents>
Please give me the efficiency data of these two devices under the following conditions.

Conditions
Device:LMR12015 and LM53601-Q1
VIN:10.8V
VOUT:5.0V, 3.3V and 1.2V
IOUT:5mA, 10mA, 50mA, 100mA and 200mA
Fsw Setting:2.0MHz
Mode Setting:PWM only
Other peripheral BOM:EVM's recommended value

Could you help us?

Best Regards,Masumi Sekiguchi

  • Hi Masumi,

We will support you with all the required information on LM53601 .
Can you please tell us more about the Input voltage range ?
To generate 1.2V output from 10.8 V input with switching freq of 2MHz , a min on time of Approx 50nS is needed . We have a typical Min on time of 50nS but can only guarantee min on time of 80.5nS (Lot to Lot as well as temp variation ). So if the input voltage range is higher , i would suggest to use two stage solution ie LM53601 at the front end followed by point of load DC/Dc converter like LM26420 .

Further you mentioned to take data in Forced PWM mode right ? You will see inefficiency at lower loads with Forced PWM . We will provide efficiency data for both FPWM as well as Auto mode just for the comparison .

  • Thank you the answer.

    Input voltage is only 10.8V.
If 1.2V can’t be output, this voltage is not to require(it may not be measured).

We know that only PWM mode operation is bad to the efficiency.
However, the customer hate the frequency vary.
So, the customer want to use "only PWM mode operation".

If possible, I want both of measurement data of the "LMR12015" "LM53601-Q1".

Because by comparing these two devices, we want to choose the better the efficiency.

    Can you support (measure)?
  • The LMR12015 is a non-synchronous part. It does not support only PWM mode operation. The part will operate in DCM in light load.
  • Thanks for the answer.

Then, could you get the data of the LM53601?
  • Hello,
Looks like the LM53601 would be a good fit for your application. We do not have access to that EVM. Therefore, we will forward your query to the person responsible for this device and move your question to the appropriate forum.
    Regards,
    Akshay
  • (In conclusion…)
Could you measure of this condition?

I'd like to get the measuring data… .

It consider the delivery period of the EVM,We will lose the opportunity.

Could you help (measuring) me ?
