Buck Controller for VIN > 60V?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5116WG, LM5116, LM5116-HT, LM5141, LM5119

I am looking for a buck controller with synchronous rectification, current mode and external MOSFETs to be used for a VIN=37 to 58.8V power supply with 15V output and also a power supply with 5V output.

I am thinking to use one of the following: LM5116WG, LM5116 or LM5116-HT. Are these good parts to use? Do you have any other recommendations that meet the requirement?

  • Daniel,

The LM5116 will work, there is also a dual version, the LM5119.  We have released two new controller that you should take a look at the LM5140 (dual) and the LM5141 which is a single.  The LM5141 hace frequency dittering, if you have EMI concerns, you may want to take a look at it.
