BQ2004 charge current is low

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2004

In our charger the BQ2004 is regulating the charge current about 20% low.   The DC voltage on the SNS pin is regulating at about 180mV instead of the expected 225mV.

Is there a lot of chip to chip variation of the SNS level? or wold it be safe to change my current shunt to reach the desired current with this lower SNS voltage?
