LMZ23603 and LP5900

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZ23603, LP5900

i have developed a new board where  lmz23603  use to generate 5 volts.

and a sub power with LDO LP5900 to generate 1.5 volt with 5 volt VIN.

Do not work together because in LMZ data sheet you recomanded to have a soft start big time

but LP5900 not work with a rise time of VIN Greater then of 500uS

It is possible that TI has not provided the use of the LMZ family with the LP5900?

I have a soluction?

  • Hello Marcello,

The LP5900 and LMZ23603 were designed by different groups here and certainly the two parts were never tested in tandem.

At the risk of adding more parts to your solution, you might try the following approach. No calculations were used to determine the R or C values so they need to be properly determined, but the schematic approach should hold. Make sure to test conditions of removing input power and quickly reapplying power. There may be a situation where it intermittently won't start. If that is the case, it may instead require a low cost SOT-23 supervisor to assure reliable startup.

  • hi Alan
ok, i have think a similar soluction, but without diode. Diode is very important for power on/off/on fast
    Thank you
