Hi,
Referring to TI SLVS484C (JUNE 2003–REVISED DECEMBER 2014) datasheet, Figure 6 on Page 7 states this parameter of TPS61091.
Q1. How does the TPS61091 generate 5V? I cannot find any errata stating these, or is there any revised version of the datasheet?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apart from this error, I am observing below-mentioned issues with the operation of the Boost Converter.
I am currently working on TPS61090EVM-029 with no alterations on the supplied evaluation board from TI. Powering the Evaluation kit with the variable lab power supply capable of supplying 10A at 18V max.
My Test conditions are as follows.
TEST 1:
Load Connected = 10 Ohm on Vout of EVM board.
Supply Vin (V) | Supply Observed at J1 Connector | Vout (Observed) (V) | Out Current (mA) |
4 | 4 | 5 | 363 |
3.8 | 3.8 | 5 | 363 |
3.3 | 2.5 | 5 | 363 |
3 | 2.4 | 4.37 | 313 |
2.4 | 2 | 3.77 | 272 |
2 | 1.8 | 2.68 | 190 |
1.8 | 1.6 | 1.7 | 117 |
If I consider the constant voltage output, It should have performed as per the datasheet's Figure 7, but It didn't. If I'm doing anything wrong?
I have pulsating capacitive load that has peak current of 3A and average current of 380mA at 5V with minimum input voltage of 1.8V. For that, I believe TPS61090/92 would suffice the need.
