LM5175: Use LM5175 for DC/DC Vin = 16-31V / Vout = 30V à 20A

Part Number: LM5175
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27200, LM5122,

Hi

Is LM5175 suitable for this application ? (DC/DC Vin = 16-31V / Vout = 30V à 20A)

The datasheet states up to 20A, Vin and Vout are in the voltage range but it looks quite a bit of power (600W)

An idea consists in interposing 2 external drivers UCC27200 :

_ 1 between LM5175 LDRV1-HDRV1 pins and high side/low side power mosfets

_ The other between LM5175 LDRV2-HDRV2 pins and high side/low side power mosfets

Thanks in advance for your answer

  • Hi Xavier,

600W is probably too much power for a single phase. A mult-phase approach using a boost such as LM5122 may be more appropriate.
That said if you want to try it, please take a look at the LM5175EVM-HP on the LM5175 product folder as the starting point.
