With bq2004E, we have used a RSNS of 0.165E but the charge current goes over 1.7A (instead of ~1.3A). I have attached the schematic of the same. It would be helpful if you can provide all the variables on which charge current is dependent. The configuration is to charge a 24V NiMH battery. Also please review the attached schematic from charge current point of view.
