LM3485: Difference from new to old.

Part Number: LM3485

Combing through the old buck converter we are currently using and comparing it to the replacement, I fail to see the difference between the two.  Can anyone explain to me why this is a new part number?

Old Buck - LM3485MM

New Buck- LM3485Q1MM

Thank you

  • Hello Matthew,

The original LM3485 is still orderable:
    www.ti.com/.../samplebuy

The difference that the LM3485Q1MM has is that this part number is for the Automotive Qualified version of the original LM3485. The additional Q1 in the part number indicates that passes Q100 automotive qualification.

Unless you need this additional qualification I would recommend continuing to purchase the original part LM3485MM
