TPS62065-Q1: Reverse/sink current limit?

Part Number: TPS62065-Q1

Hi team,

Can the current limit detection circuit on the low side FET
detect the sink current(from SW pin to GND)?
If yes, will it turn off the low side FET at that time?

Best regards.

  • Hi,

Yes, This device has implemented negative current limit which turns of the low side FET.

Could you share some details why this is important in your application?

    Thanks & Regards,
    Michael
  • Hi Michael_san,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

As a background,my customer designs automotive products.

He decides to use the TPS62065Q to next product.

From the viewpoint of safety, he wants to understand the behavior of
TPS62065Q in the case of abnormal state.

Therefore,he wants to understand whether the TPS62065Q will lead to destruction,
if the Vin connects to the SW pin through low impedance for a short time.

If it is possible to detect the sink current on the low side,
we believe that the destruction can be prevented.

    Best regards.
