I have a question.

My customer are considering TPS7A19.

Please teach me this question.

◆Question

Customer is looking for "temperature versus loss" data.

I want data of "Temperature vs. Loss" as shown in Figures 23 to 25 on page 12 of the LM2940 data sheet.

    These curves you reference are derived from the information provided in the Thermal Information table of the datasheet and the equations given in the Power Dissipation and Thermal Considerations section of the datasheet.

    ThetaJA for TPS7A19 is 48 C/W and the operating maximum for Tj is 125C.

    Pd = Iout x (Vin - Vout)

    Tj(max) = Ta + ThetaJA x Pd(max)

    Plugging in the information specifically for TPS7A19 we get:

    125 = Ta + 48 x Pd(max)

    Solving for Pd(max) we get the equation we get:

    Pd(max) = (125 - Ta) / 48
