[TWL] 32KHz jitter value of low/high jitter mode

Dear team,

TWL5030 TRM says we can control 32.768KHz low-jitter/high-jitter mode by CFG_PWRANA2 register.

What is the jitter value of each low-/high- jitter mode?

Thank you.

Regards,

Logan

  • Hi Logan,

It is best to keep the default setting. This bit probably was provided for some test purposes and hence there is a test key for this. I dont have the low and high jitter values with me.

Why would you/customer need the values for jitter?

    Regards,

    Gandhar.

  • Hi Gandhar,

According to TWL5030 DM, current consumption of high jitter mode is lower than low jitter mode.

     - Low jitter mode : 8uA

     - High jitter mode : 1.8uA

In case high jitter mode is allowed for OMAP application, customer can use smaller capacity of backup battery for saving cost and PCB area.

So if we don't know the jitter value, we need to confirm that high jitter mode is safe for using with OMAP3 series.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Logan
