TPS62730: Using TPS62730 with external MCU and CR2032/2 AA cells

Part Number: TPS62730
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62740

During Standby Mode, TPS62730 provides 30 nA current as per datasheet. But MCU and other peripherals require about 30uA .

Will TPS62730 provide me such current or other results shall i face regarding it?

can anyone provide information about other regulators meeting such requirement ?

  • The TPS62730 consumes 30 nA--it can provide any amount of current.  In practical applications, the current capability is limited by the drop across the bypass transistor.  At 30 uA, this drop is very low.

Newer ICs which consume a much lower switching Iq, and would therefore be more efficient, are the TPS62740/3/6/8 family.
