Hi,

Please let me ask about capacitance for DRV pin.

In the revision history from C to D, the recommended capacitance was changed from 1uF to 2.2uF, then do you have any concern if I use 1uF for mass production? Please let me know the background of this change.
It's recommended the 10V or higher voltage rated in DS P5, then please let me know the reason you recommend 10V or higher but like 6.8V. I guess that you care the capacitance drop due to DC voltage characteristics so you recommend higher voltage rated that has better DC voltage characteristics. Is my understanding correct?

Hi Satoshi,

Regarding 1, the minimum capacitance is 2.2uF in order to prevent DRV pin overshoot above pin abs max voltage rating during a >9-V power up and/or line transient.

Regarding, yes, the 10-V voltage rating is account for capacitor de-rating.

Regarding #1, I understand that 2.2uF is not necessary when they use input voltage less than 9V. And also we need to check DRV voltage to keep less than abs max voltage due to input line transient. Is my understanding correct?

Satoshi,

Technically, yes, but the datasheet doesn't distinguish between high VIN and low VIN. So, we can only warranty for devices with DRV capacitance = 2.2uF.
