TLC59284: TLC59284 / Accuracy of output current

Part Number: TLC59284
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC59281, , TLC59282

Hi,

I know that the ideal output current can be calculated by the equation in P4. Then I'd like to know the variation of the constant value of "43.8" and VIREF to estimate maximum error. So please give your opinion for following question.

  1. I found that TLC59281 and TLC59282 has min/max VIREF though TLC59284 has no min/max value. Then can I use +/- 5% accuracy roughly for TLC59284? I understand that you can't guarantee it because there is no min/max value in electrical characteristic and so it is not tested.
  2. Can you provide the variation of the constant value of "43.8" roughly? I'm not sure the meaning of this value.

  • Hi, Satoshi,

Firstly, 43.8 is the ideal gain to calculate ideal output current under a certain RIREF.

I figure out you want to know the accuracy of output current, so you can refer to datasheet P4:

This parameter already contains the variations.

  • Hi Kenneth,

Thank you for your response. Your comment will be enough for customer. I understand that this +/- 3%(max) include the channel-to-channel variation and also Iout_set variation.
