TPS65168: I2C Communication of TPS65168

Hi Team,

My customer informed me the I2C Data reading error  of some samples has been occurred in the product line of system maker when they read the EEPROM data of TPS65168.

The returned data from TPS65168 is 00 for all registers of TPS65168.

However,  my customer verified  the EEPROM data of TPS65168 with a jig before shipping it.

I2C line of system maker is connected to several devices. 

Do you have any comment to make the returned data 00 for all register which is caused in any case?

The failure LCMs are under coming to my customer site and they will check the failure  symptom with the jig of TPS65168.

    Does your customer has a data log for the devices they send out after verification? If yes, they could compare the datalog with what they read when they receive back the failing devices.

    The set maker has a procesure to check the register of each devices. the I2C line is connected to several devices with difference slave address.
    But the register data of TPS65168 is read as 00 for all register address.

    Set maker did not share the log data for the devices and my customer will check the register data of failed TPS65168 under shipping to customer from set maker.
    Actuallly, I am not sure if the returned TPS65168 is failed for data reading.
    However, customer want to know which case will make the all register of TPS65168 read as 00 for all register.

    If you think it is difficult to estimate what makes this phenomenon, I'd recommend to hold this post until my customer get the returned samples .

  • Hi Diaara,

    It was verified that TPS65168 has no problem to communicate the master but the shunt resistor on I2C lines showed abnormal.
