TPS61160: TPS61160 drive 1 LED （Vf=3.3V） with 3.3Vin

Hi team,

would you please suggest if TPS61160 would be able to drive a 1.85' panel backlight which only have 1 LED at lion battery supply, as low as  3.3V input voltage? thanks.

    Hi Kevin,
    If you driver output 3.3V with input voltage 3.3V, take the freewheeling diode Fv into account, the real output voltage is around 3.6V, the duty cycle is really small. The LED will be on, but the device enters skip mode. When you dim down, the output current is no longer regulated because the inductor will be constant on. I'm afraid this application is not recommended.
