I'm using BQ24012 to charge CR18650 battery. As a result of the mechanical design user can attach battery reversed.
Can I simply add a schottky diode to protect circuit from reverse battery voltage? (Current limit= ~200mA)

Hello,
Diode could prevent reversed connection.
But you need to know the charger process is on the basis of battery voltage, so you need to confirm there is no big drop voltage between OUT pin and battery.
