TPS61195: SW Frequency of Boost Converter

Part Number: TPS61195

Hello,

My Customer are concerned about switching frequency of boost converter.

They hope to use between 680kHz(min) and 750kHz(max).

Because, In their application, it affects the load as noise by doubling or tripling harmonics(NG 1.6MHz ±5%).

In the datasheets written at 800kHz(min) 1MHz(typ) 1.2MHz(max).

It means , TPS61195 has accuracy of SW frequency about 20%.

Question①

Is there any plan?

Question②

Will the accuracy be higher by reducing the temperature range(0 ~ 45 degrees)?

Vin:4.5~21V

Vout : 40V (12strings, 8parallel)

Iled : 25mA

Regards,

Taichi Nakamura

  • Hi Nakamura,
As described in the datasheet, there is indeed 20% variation. It comes from normal distribution and six-sigma requirement. The data is from all temperature range from -40 to +85C. If you narrow down the temperature range, the variation will be better, but I'm afraid whether we can guarantee how much better.
If you have further questions, please let me know.
  • Hi Caryss-san,

    Thank you your reply.

My Customer hope to know SW fluquency of narrow down the temperature range without guarantee.

Could you show me as a reference value to the last?

If you have more customer information, Can I send to you mail directly?

    Regards,

    Taichi Nakamura

  • Hi Taichi,
I'm afraid I can't provide this data, we don't have it in our Test.
Yes, my email address is cayrss-li@ti.com, please send to me directly.
  • Hi, Caryss-san

I'm sorry , my reply too late.

    It's problem was cleared.
Even if there was no data, it became NG in the evaluation result by harmonics .
They needed another countermeasure on the board.

Therefore, we will close on this question.
