UCC27532-Q1: UCC27532-Q1 for SiC FET: parallel use

Part Number: UCC27532-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27532, UCC27531-Q1, UCC21520

Hi Team,

I want to drive SiC FETs. De to the typical high capacitance and high drive voltage (15-20V), I want to put 2 x UCC27532 in parallel. Will that concept work? What would be the best solution to drive SiC FETs, automotive, >100kHz Switching frequency?

Thank you very much!

CW

  • Hi Christian,

Yes, this approach should work. Ensure that each of the output pins for each driver has a series resistor with the SiC FET gate. This device as well as UCC27531-Q1 are good choices for SiC devices. Have you collected data already with a single driver?

We also offer isolated gate drivers, UCC21520 family, which fit very well in SiC applications.

    I hope this post helps.

    Regards,
