LM5041: Rset value

Hi Team,

The datasheet page 11 shows the following.

• Recommended RSET programming range: 10kΩ to 100kΩ

Could you tell me what is concern if my customer set RSET less than 10kΩ?
My customer is considering to put less than 10kΩ and wants to know it beforehand.

Hi Yaita-san,

It is not possible to tell the effect from the datasheet. We will have to ask for an IC designer to look at this question which could take a number of weeks before we have an answer.

In general it is not recommended to use values outside of those on the datasheet.

I will take at least a week if not more. Do we understand why the customer wants to use a value less than 10k for Rset?

Hi Yaita-san

The answer is that the deadtime/overlap time with continue to decrease, but we can’t guarantee the timing accuracy over process and temperature below 10k or over 100k.
