TPS62410-Q1: About an external capacitor of TPS62410-Q1.

Part Number: TPS62410-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62410

I want to confirm it about an external capacitor of TPS62410-Q1.

Please see the attached file.
The customer connects an external feedforward capacitor to converter1.

Q1.
Does this have a bad influence on the operation?
(Is it no problem to connect?)

Q2.
It is described in the TPS 62410-Q1 data sheet as follows.

----------------------------------------------------------
In addition to that, a 33pF external feed forward capacitor C ff2 for good load transient response must be used.
----------------------------------------------------------

Why do I not need to connect an external capacitor to converter1?

TPS62410-Q1_About external capacitor(Converter1).pdf

  • Hello Harukawa-san,

the feed forward capacitor for converter 1 is already integrated. Therefore it is not recommended to add an external feed forward cap in addition. So please remove C3 from your schematic.
For converter 2 an external feed forward capacitor is recommended. So C4 is correct.

    Best regards,
    Ivo
