TPS65094: Vsys current

Part Number: TPS65094
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2767

Vsys current

Our customer is considering TPS65094x for 5Vin rail with small boost.

Then they wants to know how much current the Vsys needs, in order to select boost device.

Could you share the Vsys current at Full work ?

よろしくお願いします。

  • Ninagawa-san, thank you for posting your question on the TPS65094 in the e2e forum. Your thread has been assigned to the expert within TI, who will reply to your question as soon as possible and attempt to resolve your issue.
  • Hi Ninagawa-san,

DC current on VSYS pin (pin 55) is low, typically around 1 mA.

The key care about will likely be the power up in-rush current. In particular, during the turn on of LDO5 there is typically around 300 mA of inrush current.

See below a scope shot showing startup with the LM2767 voltage doubler. A few notes:

    1. Note that DRV5V_1_6 and DRV5V_2_A1 should be connected directly to the 5V supply so that LDO5P0 does not have to charge their input caps
    2. VSYS should not be more than a volt below V5ANA at any time.
    3. If using TPS650944 with LDOA1 enabled by default, be sure to add the current requirements of the LDOA1 load to the VSYS current.

Let me know if you have any questions.
