BQ27441-G1: Accuracy of golden source vs. standard profile

Part Number: BQ27441-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27510-G3

Hi Team,

I have a customer who is using the bq27441-G1. The customer is using the following two batteries in their application:

60.16216-NCR-18650BL-2S1P_inkl.NTC.PDF

DYNAMIS-Lith-Polymer-LP553770G-rev3-Shortform.pdf

The question is if it is possible to know the difference in accuracy that can be expected from creating a golden source of a battery vs just using the pre-programmed Standard Profile in the bq device? For example, how much difference in measurement accuracy can one expect from using a golden source and a bq27510-G3 vs a Standard Profile bq27441-G1?

Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi Mihir

pls run the test described and use the tool in the link below to determine how much of a match the default chem id on the ROM gauge like the bq27441 will be.

Typically the error is the ROM gauges would be in the 5% range if it is a match. If it isn't a match it could be as wide as much as 30%.

The flash based gauge on the other hand allows you to program a custom chem id, so the error could be as low as 1% here.

    thanks
    Onyx
