TPS54327: Reverse Current Protection with Enable Low

Hi Team,

One of our customers has asked whether the TPS54327 has reverse current protection.

His application has 3 separate sources for 3.3V, which are never on at the same time, however he is worried about backfeeding the TPS54327 when it's enable is low and the output is set to 3.3V by one of the other sources.

Should a reverse current protection diode be placed on the output of the buck?

I don't think there is a reverse current protection in this part. If the reverse current is big the body-diode of High-side MOS will be damaged. A diode can add in the output of the BUCK. Choose a low voltage-drop diode can save more power.

Hi Diego,

How about input voltage when TPS54327 is disabled and Vout is pull high to 3.3V by another source? if the input voltage is still existing and higher than 3.3V, then no backfeed current occured.
