LP87524B-Q1: Power ON/OFF sequencing

Part Number: LP87524B-Q1

Hi,

My customer needs single chip solution for 4 x Buck (1.2V @2.5A, 2.5V @ 1A, 3.3V @ 2.5A, 1.8V @ 2.5A). Input voltage is 5V.

Is LP87524B-Q1 best suitable part for the requirement?

Also, power ON/OFF sequencing is needed using external enable signal. Datasheet shows EN1/2/3. Can ENx be used to sequence VOUTx?

With three Enable pin how to control four outputs?

  • Thank you for posting your question on the LP87524B-Q1 device in the e2e forum. Your thread has been assigned to the expert within TI, who will reply to this thread as soon as possible and attempt to answer your question.
  • Hi Prahlad,

Each output can be configured to be controlled by EN1,EN2 or EN3 pin. It is possible control all outputs with one control pin. For each output, it is possible to configure individual start-up and shutdown delay. With these two features, only one enable signal is needed to implement power ON/OFF sequencing for all 4 outputs.

Default output voltages for LP87524B-Q1 are

    3.3V @ 1.5A

    1.2V @ 1.5A

    1.8V @ 4.0A

    2.3V @ 2.5A

These are set in OTP memory. They can be reprogrammed via I2C, but it has to be done every time the LP8752 is powered up. All changes are lost when device is shut off.

If the customer would like to have custom OTP configuration, please contact your local TI representative.

    Regards,

    Juha
