WEBENCH® Tools/TPS40425: TPS40425 webench run issue

1. What's Vinmin, Vinmax, Vout, Iout in your design?

After I select "User Preferred Frequency", it allows me to change frequency as below.

2. Depends. Rt resistor is used to sef switching frequency. If Fsw is the same, then Rt resistor value will be the same.

1.Vin 8V~13V, Vout is 3.3V/60A.

2.After i change Vin is 11V~13V, the frequency range change again. and as i know the TPS40425 maxium frequency should be 1.5MHz.but i am not sure why the frequency initial is fixed in i description iter 1.

3. i also try other part LM5118, the frequency also be a range. not fixed.

Looks like it is a Webench problem. I will ask our Webench team to take a look.

Hi Bogey,

Our webench team does not have bandwidth now. It may take some time to fix this problem.

If Iout is changed to 55A, the Fsw can be selected between 200kHz to 750kHz. This Fsw range should be enough for your project.
Can you use this method for your project at this monent?

Btw, what's your main purpose of using webnech, to create the schematic or get the simulation result like efficiency?

So, may we check if the TPS40425 run out simulation companent is can be use?
if yes, we will use the component to modify our circuit first.(for frequency fixed issue, we will modify Rt to change operation frequency.)

Hi Bogey,

TPS40425 can support 3.3Vout, 60A. The fixed 200kHz frequency is just a Webench issue.
As I suggested, set change Iout 55A in design input, then select Fsw.
My suggestion is to set Fsw at around 500kHz for 3.3Vout.
