LM3433: Lifebuy Status - Comparable Replacement???

Part Number: LM3433

Dear colleagues, friends, and fellow engineers,

The LM3433 has entered into life buy status this past August, it will be sold only for another 12 months until August 2018. Has anybody heard of or found a comparable replacement to that chip?  Hopefully trying to find something relatively drop-in with a few minor board changes.  high current (6A-10A), buck regulator with similar performance to the LM3433 would be great.

Thanks,

Jeff

  • Hello Jeff,

The LM3434 would be a direct drop in replacement, unfortunately I believe it is also in life buy status.

For replacing those devices we are recommending the TPS92640 or TPS92641. They have very good performance and only require a single supply. They are also synchronous and capable of the high currents you need. The LM3409 could work as well although you need to be a little more careful with the design to get up to 10A (basically a good FET with both low Rds(on) and low Qg), but it is possible.

    Regards,

    Clint
