Hello.

We intend to use device UCC2813QDR-2Q1 to design a power supply for our inverter application. UCC2813QDR-2Q1 was suggested to us by the WEBENCH Design tool. These were our inputs in the tool:

VinMin=200V

VinMax=280V

Vout=24V

Iout=2A

The transformer given in the schematic was of custom make and all the specifications were given.

However when Iout was changed to 3 Amps, the transformer in the new schematic did not have all the specifications available. Eg:- Core material, Bobbin material, Number of turns etc.

If we could obtain the complete specification like with Iout=2A, we will be directly wind the transformer and use UCC2813QDR-2Q1 IC in our application. Kindly provide support regarding this.

Thank you for your interest in TI here. To clarify, you need to understand what the transformer specifications are for the Iout= 3A ?

I started from the ucc2813-2 product page here and did the webench design without any issues:

See attached webench report that I got.

I also tried it from the product folder of the UCC2813-2-Q1 and it worked.

Dear John,
My issue is specifically with the transformer in this design. It is a custom designed transformer and not an off the shelf product. In other webench designs, we can access the complete specification sheet of transformers by clicking on the transformers in the schematic and then clicking on "Download Transformer details" . However this feature works when Iout=2A but does not work when Iout=3A. Kindly help me with this.

Kartik,
Webench doesn't have all transformers available loaded into it so there may still be an off the shelf option somewhere that could meet the need. We are still in the process of having multiple magnetics vendors load their catalogs into the tool. I suggest shipping around the requirements to multiple vendors and see if they have something that could work.
