TPS65910: Which Power Supply is the GPIO PU Referenced to...?

Part Number: TPS65910

I'm a bit confused about which power supply the GPIO pullup is referenced to...  The Signal Description Table 4.1 says VDDIO but the I/O Pullup and Pulldown Characteristics Table 5.5 says VRTC...  Which is it...?

  • Hello David,

I've assigned this post to the appropriate applications engineer, he will respond to your question.

  • Hi David,

I just went to the lab with an EVM and it looks like the Signal Description Table is the closest to correct. In particular, it has a programmable *pull down* resistor, not a pull up resistor.

For the TPS659109 at least, this pull-down resistor was disabled by default, not default active.

When programmed as a GPI, it's VIH / VIL is relative to VDDIO. When programmed as a GPO, it can be pulled up to a variety of supplies. VRTC 1.8V appears to have been used in testing the VOL when used as a GPO. Hopefully this clears up the confusion.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I've submitted this for datasheet cleanup.
