TPS61235P: Current Capability and Webench Design

Part Number: TPS61235P

I am driving some audio amps at 5vdc and want to use the TPS61235 to step up the voltage from my lithium ion battery pack. The title of the data sheet for the TPS61235 says "8-A Valley Current Synchronous Boost Converters" but the spec text says "capable of delivering up to a 3.5-A output current". When I use the Webench function on the website, it only allows for 3A current capability. 3A would be fine in my design but during heavy bass notes, it can have short peaks ~5A+. I thought the capability was 8A but don't understand or must be missing something. Can this design handle 3A constant with momentary higher peaks? Is the Webench design what I should be using? Thanks!

Here is a link to the Webench design I'm referring to. webench.ti.com/.../SDP.cgi
