Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi Team,

My customer considers to use LMS3655-Q1 for the following automotive application.
----------------------
Vin: 18 - 36V *ABS MAX need more than 40V
Vout: 15V
Iout: 5A
----------------------

I tried to simulate WEBENCH to output schematic however Vout=15V couldn't be selected.

Could you support for this issue?

  • From the datasheet:

"Operation below 3.3 V and above 6 V may require changes to the typical application schematic, operation may not be possible over the full input voltage range, and some system specifications will not be achieved for this extended output voltage range. Consult the factory
    for further information."

based on that disclaimer, I am not surprised that Webench will not support that design. Let me see I f I can find the factory support for it.
  • I've notified the responsible engineer to help you with the LMS3655-q1.

You could also consider LM73605-q1 or LM73606-q1 for this application.

  • Our customer's application is an AudioAMP.
The HotRod package is the best item for reducing a noise.
So we would like to introduce the LMS3655-Q1 to them.

  • To my understand, the part should be able to supply 15V output voltage with the ADJ version. But the recommended Vout range is 1V to 15V in the table. So 15V might be considered out of range by Webench. Would the customer be ok with a part with Vout range 1V to 15V with their 15V supply?
