bq27425-g1: bq27425-g1 errata doc

Part Number: BQ27425-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hello battery gas gauge team,

We have a customer seeing voltage and current values that are completely out of range when reading on I2C.  I know the bq27425-G1 is NRND, so I wondered if there's an errata document for it.

I saw the comparison with the -G1 and -G2x in SLUA657.  It doesn't list anything as errata.

Also, do we have any firmware guide for moving from -G1 to -G2x?

Thanks,

Darren

  • Hi Darren,
If the cell voltages are completely out of range there are several issues that could be the matter.
    - Have you reviewed their layout and schematic to make sure it is in line with our EVM? Did you check to make sure they don't have long traces or used component values different from what is in the reference schematic?

-did you connect bqstudio to your device to make sure that it isn't your host reading the values incorrectly? is bqstudio also show the same out of range measurements?

For the g2x, you need to configure it just like you configured the G1...you can do a compare between the data flash values and copy the values from one gg file to the other. For parameters that are in the g2x and not in the g1x, refer to the TRM or data sheet on how to configure those.

    thanks
