BQ24295: The off current is very high at 6mA

Right now our off current is very high because of the “BQ24295”.

I need to find out the following.

How do we turn off this chip BQ24295, and still be able to turn on our device?
Why is the current consumption so high when we turn off our device?

I have a few questions:

What is your "device"?

Where is your "device" connected to on the bq24295?

How much current are you seeing? Where are you measuring this current from? A schematic of your system would be very helpful.

How are you turning off your "device"? What are the test conditions?

The bq24295 has a 32uA typical leakage current when only the battery is present, and the BATFET is enabled. When the charger is put into Shipping Mode, the BATFET is turned off, and leakage current is somewhere around ~16uA. When the charger is in Shipping Mode, a switch can be added between the QON pin and the BAT pin to re-enable the BATFET.
