BQ500212A: BQ500212A - Design fault in User guide "bq500212A bqTESLA Wireless Power TX EVM (Rev. C)"

Part Number: BQ500212A

Hello,

this is just a small "heads up": In figure 2 of the user guide "bq500212A bqTESLA Wireless Power TX EVM (Rev. C)", T_Sense is connected between a fixed value resistor and a NTC. If this NTC is missing or has a cold joint, T_Sense will most likely stay above 1 Volt and therefore the circuit will stay on, without proper temperature monitoring.

Best regards,

Sascha Held

  • This is correct, the EVM is configured with the option to add an NTC external to the unit. More info on how to configure an NTC can be found in the data sheet section 7.3.3.

Note -- This is not a design fault in the EVM, the NTC / Thermal fault is not enable for ease of evaluation.  It is an option.
