Hi,

We have used the LM2592HVS-ADJ in a design to get a 5.0V /0.5A output from a 10-32V DC input. Now when I try to run this requirements in WEBENCH it replies that this circuit is no good for this task. The design is not stable due to phase margin seems to become out of range. I don't understand why this happens. Is the range of the input voltage to big?

I think it is because the input voltage range is pretty wide and Webench cannot find a BOM that could provide decent phase margin for the whole range of Vin.

If this is a new design, I'd recommend considering newer released IC. You can find they on Webench, or from ti.com products--> power management.

I would recommend a synchronous easy to use part: LMR23610.
