BQ78350-R1: If I want to charge the battery with the charging parameters from the BQ78350: Must I connect BQstudio to the system every time I want to charge the battery to provide charging parameters to the charging-IC?

Hello,

I want to charge my battery with the charging parameters from the BQ78350. I can configurate this parameters with BQSTUDIO. During the charge-configuration the BQ78350 is connected to the software (to the PC).

The charging parameters will be saved in the BQ78350. So, everytime I want to charge the battery, the BQ78350 knows, what the charging paramters are.

This means: I have to configurate the charging parameters to the BQ78350 only once. Every other time, when I want to charge, the BQ78350 will already know, with which values (charging-current, charging-voltage, pre-charge-current and so on) the IC should provide the informations to the charging IC.

So BQSTUDIO dont have to be connected everytime I want to charge

Is the way Im thinking correct?

Hi Paul,

You're absolutely correct. Please ensure you also have an EV2400 so BQSTUDIO may interface with your BQ78350 for the initial configuration.
