TPS62742: TPS62742 maximal output current for V_OUTnom <= V_IN - 0.7V

Part Number: TPS62742
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62088, TPS62821, TPS62801,

Hello TI,

first of all, a very nice IC with excellent specs. However, I have some questions concerning the behavior during operation with low input-output voltage difference.

For example for V_OUTnom = 3.3V.

1.)    The IC should be in 100% mode (unregulated output) between V_TH_PG+ (3.3V*0.975) and VTH_100+ (typ: 3.3V + 0.25V).

How large is the maximal output current during this mode?

(I assume I_LIMF = 650mA(typ) )

2.)    How is the behavior between V_OUTnom + VTH_100+  <  V_IN  <  V_OUTnom + 0.7V (3.55V < V_IN < 4V)

In this case also the maximal output current would be interesting. Figure 13 shows for example the efficiency up to 100mA. Is there an operation with I_out = 400mA possible, under acceptance of lower efficiency?

Thank you,

Philipp
