BQ24253: BQ24253 / Effect EN1 and EN2 setting

Part Number: BQ24253

Hi,

I understand that input current limit is set by D+/D- detection when VBUS is connected and the EN1 and EN2 setting is not effected. And I also understand that the EN1 and EN2 pin state need to change to effect EN1 and EN2 setting. Is my understanding correct?

Is there other way to effect EN1 and EN2 setting without changing  EN1 and EN2 setting after VBUS is connected?

Best Regards,

Satoshi / Japan Disty

  • Hey Satoshi-san,

    Your understanding is correct.

When you say setting, what do you mean? EN1 and EN2 are only changed through the hardware pins. However, if you mean the input current and VINDPM limits, then there are ways. Is this what you mean?

  • Hi Joel,

    Thank you for your comment.
I mean that the setting is pin connection. In the case of pull up or down EN pins without host control, I think that EN pin function can not be active because input current limit threshold is overridden after D+/D- detection.
    Is my understanding correct?

  • Hey Satoshi-san,

You are correct. In fact, Figure 18. bq24253 D+/D- and EN1/EN2 of the datasheet describes this. As stated previously, once the detection is complete, any change on these two pins externally will cause a change to the input current limit.
