BQ2000: Could BQ2000 be used in 5Vin application?

Hi Expert,

The input voltage in my system is only 5V and need to charge 3S NiMH battery.

I found  figure7 of BQ2000 datasheet have an reference circuit for 3-Cell NiCd/NiMH 1A Charger, but the minimum voltage of the schematic is 9V.

Could I design a 5V input by modifying the external components of this reference circuit?
