TPS43061EVM-198: What is the current output when Vout is changed from 15V to 24V?

This part's data sheet shows its current output when Vout is set to 15V. I'm wondering what is the current output when Vout is changed from 15V to 24V? Table two in this part's data sheet only shows current output based on 15V output. I'm looking for current data with 24V Vout in a similar format to table 2. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • I don't think you can use directly use the EVM for 24V output by just changing the FB resistor divider. You have to replace the onboard MOSFETs and output capacitors which are rated at 25V, almost no margin from the 24Vout voltage. After these changes, if you don't want to do anymore changes but keep the rest of the EVM board, then you may expect a max load close to 1.25A by a quick estimate: assuming the power level can stay the same as the original EVM.

    I have a follow up question for you or anyone that reads this. I searched for a replacement for the CSD86330Q3D MOSFET and could not find anything higher than 30V rating. Is 30V sufficient protection? My project requires a 1.5 safety factor, but if I can prove 30V rating is sufficient it might work.

    Also, if anyone knows of a DC/DC converter that is designed for around 5 to 7V in, 24V out, at least 1.25A output, and no electrolytic capacitors on the board, I would be eternally thankful if you could share the part number with me. I have searched many suppliers websites and think this might now exist. Thanks.
