REF3012: Minimum voltage spec

Part Number: REF3012

Please advise if REF3012 can operate from a 1.8V supply?  Most supplies have tolerance of +/- 3% which means it could be slightly lower than 1.8V.  Is that okay?  Or does the supply have to be above 1.8V always?

  • Hi JatanNaik,

For the REF3012 the minimum operating voltage is 1.8V. This information is located in the footnote of section 7.3. This is valid for the REF3012 with a current load greater than 0.
It is ok if it is slightly lower than 1.8V. The only time 1.8V comes into effect is if the device is sourcing its max current.

  • Hi,

the datasheet clearly says that Vin must be greater than or equal 1.8V. 1.8V - 3% would be 1.746V. But that's not what's mentioned in the datasheet. It is 1.8V!

Take also care: Many of the specifications given in datasheet are only valid for Ta=25°C. So, I wouldn't go with the input voltage under 1.8V.
