LM25011-Q1: Operating always in Current Limit mode

Part Number: LM25011-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25011

Hello,

I want to use the programmable current limit feature of LM25011 and configure to operate it as a constant current source (typically 100mA). I want to understand if this device can operate in the continuous current limit mode.

Regards,

Infant Jesuraj

  • Hello Infant,

The LM25011 will supply current to the load in current limit because it uses peak current limit and a valley current limit which will allow the valley of the inductor current to settle to some value lower than the peak current limit level. the results is the output current will be the average between these two points. So in short, yes, the device will work in continuous current limit supply a certain amount of current to the load.

    Hope this helps?

    David.
