BQ76PL455A-Q1: COMML Connections

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Hi, While designing a board utilising the BQ76PL455A-Q1 I can see in the data sheet that the COMML+ and COMML- should be left unconnected if not used (e.g. when only one BQ IC is used or in the base IC of the stack), however on the design considerations document it says these need to be pulled up and pulled down respectively. Which design is correct?

Thanks,

Alex

  • Hi Alex,

Technically, the COMML pins could be  left floating and  disabled in  software. However, best  practice is to include  the pull up/pull down and disable in S/W if not used.

So both are technically correct, but following the design consideration document is preferred
