UCD9081EVM: EVM GUI Does not recognize EVM HW

Part Number: UCD9081EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9081

I powered up the EVM, but the EVM GUI SW does not recognize the EVM. I have tried suggestions at -

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/svs_and_sequencers/f/212/p/563819/2215406?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=ucd9081evm#pi320098filter=all&pi320098scroll=false

But I have no success. Please advise.

Thanks,

  • Did you use USB_TO_GPIO Dongle to communicate EVM? If so, please make sure below two things:

    1. the I2C clock of dongle shall be set to 100KHz

    2. The PEC of dongle shall be disable.

The default settings of dognle is 400KHz.

Also UCD9081 has its own GUI , please download at http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slvc490

Though the Fusion digital power designer GUI does not support UCD9081, you need download this GUI to re-configure the USB_TO_GPIO Dongle.

Please follow section 2.1 of http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvub51/slvub51.pdf to install the fusion GUI.

after fusion GUi is installed, please follow Figure 6-15 and 6-16 to open the utility. on the Figure 6-16, click the SAA Settings.. to reconfigure the dongle.

    Hope this helps.
