LM2940-N: LDO for automotive

Part Number: LM2940-N
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A47-Q1, LM317, TPS7B82-Q1, TPS7A69-Q1

I need an 5V and 3.3V, 1A or less direct automotive battery connection.

I found the LM2940 family that should work.

Is there something newer I should look at?

I'm using it to power system with CAN and RS485 driver.

- CAN 5V: TI TCAN1051GVDRQ1 (-40C to 125C, 5Mbps, SOIC8, Ioff_leakage <1uA)
- CAN 3V: TI TCAN337GDR (-40C to 125C, 5Mbps, SOIC8, Ioff_leakage <6uA at 85C, <12uA )
- Both has “S” Silent pin, active HIGH to tri-state CAN bus driver

-RS485: THVD1550DR (-40C to 125C, 5V, SOIC8, 30KV)
