LMG5200: Full bridge layout example for LMG5200

Part Number: LMG5200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00913

Hello TI

Do you have layout examples for a full bridge with LMG5200?

Regards

Beat Ronner

  • Hello Beat,

The layout of a full-bridge is similar to the layout of two half-bridges. Please look into our LMG5200 layout guideline in the datasheet and EVM files. These can greatly help you with it. Also we have the layout of a 3-phase inverter in our reference design, which can also help.

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hello Lixing

We have of course studied the half-Bridge examples in the datasheet. But just doubling the layout is not so straightforward, because if you'd place the two modules "face-to-face", i.e. the DC-link Connections against each other, the terminals would need to be flipped.

We thought about placing the 2nd module on the bottom of the print, but it would help us if TI / other users already have experience.
You say it's "similar". Do you have a sketch you can share?

The 3-phase example would was well help. Where can I find it?

    Regards, Beat
  • Hello Beat,

Sorry that we do not have a sketch for H-bridge.

For the 3-ph design, please refer to TIDA-00913.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Good morning Lixing

    Thanks, this helped.
