TPS3700: TPS3700 Window comparator

Part Number: TPS3700

What should be the values for R1, R2 & R3  for the following, while using TPS3700 window comparator,

Over Voltage Limit is = >5.6 V

Under Voltage Limit is <= 4.4V

Can anybody give me a solution.

  • Hello Saravanan,

    We actually have released a tool for the TPS3700 that helps with these decisions. You can tinker with it yourself here (available on TPS3700 product page) and put in your own values. I have also calculated these resistor values and it seems like suitable values would be R1 = 2.09MΩ, R2 = 41.8KΩ, R3 = 163.8KΩ.

    Thanks,

    Abhinav.

  • Hi Saravanan,

    I would choose:

    R1 = 270k + 8k2
    R2 = 5k6
    R3 = 20k + 1k8

    Take resistors with +/-1% tolerance. To increase the precision you could even take 270k, 5k6 and 20k resistors with +/-0.1% tolerances. The 8k2 and 1k8 resistors can still be +/-1%.
