WEBENCH® Tools/LM5176: LM5176EVM-HP Wide-VIN Buck-Boost Controller Evaluation Module: 0 Ohm resistors in series with MOSFET'S gates

Part Number: LM5176

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi, Team,

In a schematic of LM5176EVM-HP Wide-VIN Buck-Boost Controller Evaluation Module

I see  0 Ohm resistors in series with MOSFET'S gates.

If I don't need MOSFET'S in pairs can I remove this resistors?

When I use WEBENCH Design Tools, I don't see any resistors in series with the MOSFET'S gates.

For what reason they use this resistors?  Only to connect or disconnect MOSFETS?

Best Regards,

Andrey

  • The main reason for the 0 Ohm is to reserve a position in case it is needed during test. You also see extra power MOSFET positions also reserved. This is good practice in prototyping, offering flexibility, but you don't have to.
